About Cosy Gaming Over 40

Hi, I’m Ellie! A cosy gamer in my forties who grew up with the SNES, PlayStation, and Nintendo consoles, and found my way back to gaming after turning 40.

These days I play on the Switch, Steam Deck, and PC, and I’m most at home with games that are cosy and easy to sink into.

My cosy gaming setup at home.

I started this sub because cosy gaming has become a huge part of my life, and I wanted a place to share recommendations and honest thoughts on what it’s like to be a gamer over 40.

Gaming isn’t just for teenagers; the average gamer is now 41, and almost half of us are women. This sub is for cosy games, yes. But more than that, it’s for how games fit into our lives. Especially when we’re a bit older, and a lot less interested in anything stressful after a day at work.

Around here you’ll find:

  • Opinion-led game recommendations from me (no hype for the sake of it!)

  • New cosy releases each month

  • Reflections on gaming over 40

  • A cosy community!

I don’t cover everything. Just the games I’ve played and anything else worth your time in the cosy gaming space. And if you ever want to reply to a post and tell me what you’re playing (or what you’re struggling with), I’d love that. This isn’t meant to be a one-way thing.

Thanks for being here, especially now. It means more than you know!

Speak soon,

Ellie
