5 Cosy Streamers to Keep You Company While Working

When you’re working from home or just pottering about on your laptop, silence can feel a bit too loud. Music is nice, sure, but sometimes what you really want is company.

If you’ve never watched streamers before, this might sound unfamiliar – but it’s actually far more relaxed than you might expect. Twitch is a platform where people livestream themselves playing games, crafting, or just chatting in real time. You don’t have to join in, type in chat, or even actively watch. You can simply have a stream on in the background.

Cosy streamers are perfect for this. They’re calm, friendly, and never demanding your full attention. You can dip in and out, listen along while you work, and enjoy the feeling that someone else is sharing the day with you. Many also upload videos to YouTube, which works brilliantly if you prefer something you can press play on and leave running.

Here are five cosy streamers I love having on in the background while I’m working, especially on days when I want conversation and a little bit of connection.

1. 🍄 HelloSammyLou

HelloSammyLou has a cosy and very welcoming community, along with relaxing gameplay and the perfect music to keep you calm.

HelloSammyLou (she/her) is a UK-based variety streamer with a big love for simulation games – and yes, plenty of Palia makes an appearance over here! In fact, it was Sammy who inspired me to start playing Palia in the first place. Her streams are relaxed and easy to settle into, making them ideal background company while you work.

If you enjoy laid-back chats, cosy gameplay, and the occasional wander into Lord of the Rings territory, you’ll feel right at home. Sammy also mixes in crafty streams alongside cosy gaming, which provide fantastic inspiration for more analogue hobbies.

When she isn’t live, I love having Sammy’s vlogs on during the working day. They’re perfect for that same cosy, companionable feeling when you want something familiar in the background without needing to actively watch.

She streams consistently on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 7pm UK time, which makes it easy to build into an evening work or wind-down routine.

Best for: After-work admin, creative evenings, and a welcoming and fun community.

2. ☕ Cozy Layne

Cozy Layne’s streams have a focus on mental health and wellbeing, and are great for co-working.

Cozy Layne’s streams are exactly what you want when you’re looking for company during the workday. Layne (she/her) describes herself as a nerdy, dorky gal who grew up loving video games and learning about mental health – and that warmth and thoughtfulness really shines through in her streams.

She started streaming in August 2024 and uses her platform to create a genuinely safe, welcoming space. The vibe is calm, with plenty of relaxed conversation. Things stay really chill for the most part, though there’s the occasional silly or chaotic moment that always makes me smile without derailing my focus. Layne hosts co-working/body doubling spaces every Monday and Wednesday to help motivate and create community.

Best for: Co-working, creative projects, and days when you want a supportive atmosphere that makes the day feel a little brighter.

3. 🧚 Morifae

Morifae takes the prize for the most relaxing voice. She plays the calmest games and is wonderful to watch while relaxing or working.

Morifae – or Mori (she/her) – describes herself as a sleepy fairy at home in the forest, and honestly, that tells you almost everything you need to know about the vibe here. Her streams are gentle and cosy, making them ideal background company while you work or potter through any of your tasks.

You can expect relaxed chatting (she has the nicest voice to listen to!) alongside cosy, narrative-driven and adventure games, especially pixel art and side-scrollers.

Her space is intentionally chill and respectful, which makes it especially easy to leave on in the background without sudden loud moments or chaos.

When she isn’t live, Mori’s YouTube channel is also a lovely option for the working day. Her videos carry the same fairy-in-the-forest energy, making them perfect for focus sessions when you still want some company.

Best for: Low-energy workdays, deep focus sessions, and anyone who loves pixel art and side-scrolling games.

4. ✨ Eleanor

Eleanor hosts Pomodoro focus sessions and encourages breaks for chatting after chunks of work.

Eleanor (she/her) is a UK-based, full-time content creator whose streams feel genuinely comforting. She first began creating content on TikTok after becoming chronically ill/disabled, before branching into streaming – and her channels have grown into a lovely, welcoming space that’s easy to settle into.

Her streams often blend cosy gaming with crafting like crocheting, giving them a relaxed, lived-in feel that works beautifully alongside a working day. She’s usually joined by her very cute spaniel, Bentley, who naps under her desk while she streams!

Game-wise, Eleanor tends to play cosy and narrative-driven experiences. Some of her favourites include Baldur’s Gate 3Stardew ValleyHollow Knight, and Horizon Zero Dawn / Forbidden West. On stream right now, you’ll often find her playing Palia, Minecraft, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Best for: Daytime company, co-working, and cosy streams.

5. 🧶 Play with Moxie

Moxie plays a huge variety of fun and cosy games, many of which you’ve never heard of. She’s a wonderful cosy-gaming elder to hang out with while working or tasking.

Play with Moxie is a wonderful example of cosy gaming at any age. She’s an over-50 content creator, and her YouTube channel really is a reminder that gaming doesn’t have an expiry date.

Her approach to gaming is all about heart, humour, and – as she puts it – a little bit of Moxie! Whether you’re a long-time gamer or someone who’s just here for cosy vibes and company, her videos make you feel instantly included. The tone is friendly, relaxed, and inclusive, which makes her ideal background viewing while you work.

Recently, she’s been playing Dinkum, Mirthwood, and Grimshire (which I absolutely loved seeing here). Because her content is on YouTube, it’s especially easy to have on during the working day.

Best for: Working-day background company, cosy gaming inspiration, and anyone who loves seeing community-led content from an older creator.

Why Cosy Streams Work So Well for Co-Working

Cosy streamers offer something that music and podcasts often don’t: a sense of shared presence. They’re there with you, without demanding attention or constant engagement.

For gamers over 40 – especially if you’re brand new to streaming – this can be surprisingly comforting. You don’t need to understand Twitch, join chat, or even actively watch. You can just press play and let a friendly voice keep you company while you work. And if live streams feel like too much, YouTube videos offer the same cosy feeling with even less effort.

What really stands out about cosy streamers is the intentionality behind their spaces. Many focus on kindness, inclusivity, mental health, and community, creating environments that feel welcoming and supportive. Seeing creators of different ages, life experiences, and energy levels makes it easier to imagine yourself belonging there, too.

Whether you’re working from home, studying, or just trying to make everyday tasks feel a little less lonely, the right cosy stream can make the job feel a little bit easier.
